“Biennale compact“ The core idea of the project is to create a kind of „condensed-Biennale-concept“ consisting of diverse unique „pavilions“ which are melted together. Each pavilion differs in shape, size, transparency, etc. in order to create a necklace-like structure of various identities. Thereby this whole structure will be lifted in order to enable the park to flow through the plot. Each unit could host one of the exhibition spaces (of the fine arts museum or the children’s museum), the diverse areas of the research centre and the lecture hall. The units are connectable in order to enable a maximum in flexibility.

The scale of Yingge In order to appreciate and respect the cultural identity of Yingge it’s essential NOT to de-contextualize the New Taipei City Museum Of Art from its urban surrounding. Therefore the scale of the pavilions is a reference to the buildings of the nearby city centre of Yingge.
 Rendering Individual entries to each pavilion – moving art pieces To underline the idea of individual pavilions hosting different kinds of exhibitions in a very unique surrounding, each unit is equipped with a particular kind of circulation. Huge moving platforms will guide the visitor from the art yard into the inner exhibition spaces of the pavilions.
 Access Pedestrian Horizontal disposition Horizontally the New Taipei City Museum will be arranged in three major layers: – the public zone in the centre: the art yard – the diverse exhibition areas on top: the condensed pavilions – the service zone as the basement
 Site Plan The Interwoven-Doubble-Yards By the method of folding a system of two interconnected rings arises. Thereby two yards with different spatial qualities occur. These interconnected rings consist of a sequence of single volumes which host the various exhibition- and resource centre spaces of the programm. On the outer edges of the museum these volumes compose a constant front-line (=urban-big-scale-front). At the inner edges the sequence of single volumes becomes more obvious by an inconstant outline (sub-urban-smaller-scale-yard).
