House Y was planned for a family with 3 adolescent children, and privacy aspects played an important role in the design. The lot is large, sloped, and has attractive open views. We placed the house in the middle of a huge garden, lower than the street level so it is almost hidden from it, in accordance with the client wish.
The plan consist of four separate wings arranged around an entrance patio, with 2 meters gaps of greenery between them. The wings are bridged by three connecting glass passages, allowing the view to be seen at all direction from the patio. The fourth, missing passage, is the entrance to patio from the front yard. Two of the wings are private (master bedroom, office / children) with wooden floor, and two are more public (entrance, living and dining room, kitchen, family room / billiard, home theater, guest suit) ? with stone floor. The passages are marked by black stones floor. Contact Sharon Neuman Architects
