The Appenzeller Memorial Hall performs as an educational space with subsidiary programs such as professors’ offices, lecture rooms, fellowship rooms, etc and the chapel is located at the center of the building. This worship space is surrounded by five giant free standing concrete walls with several roof structures flying over the ceiling separate from the concrete walls. The chapel with the clear story on top of the wall allows the plenty of the natural light penetrate into the worship space and it makes the visual connection from the stage and rear of the choir to the outdoor space.

A portion of the roof structure with different degrees of inclination and slant run onto the floor while the various compositions of columns, supporting the roof, create the dynamic three-dimensional spatial quality. The Appenzeller Memorial Hall is expected to be not only the center of the campus environment but also a university education in Paichai University.
