Sumit Singhal loves modern architecture. He comes from a family of builders who have built more than 20 projects in the last ten years near Delhi in India.  Image Courtesy Namgoong Sun The initial idea of house with steps turned into a practical version of skip floor format, with a small atrium in the middle. The half basement is used as a study followed by living room ,kitchen & dinning, master bed, child’s room, attic for the child, and attic AV room. The client was very happy when the design was finished. They had a seven storey building.(half floor difference) Inevitably, the house had dynamic quality, like that of a giant stairwell. The large void in the middle accentuated it even further. The spiraling energy created within was an inspiration for the exterior. The swirling energy was translated into a flat dimension, thus the nickname lollipop house was born., Image Courtesy Namgoong Sun MOON HOON: MOONBALSSO Moon Hoon was born in 1968, in Sangdong Gangwon_do, lived his teenage years in Tasmania, Australia. He was educated in architecture in Korea, and US at MIT, also had work experience in both countries. He has been running his studio Moon_Bal_Sso since 2001. He is interested in breaking the boundaries of architecture by experimenting_crashing, fusing, mixing, and so forth_ with various other disciplines. His major works include Rock It Suda, S_Mahal, Mookdong Multi House, Ongdalsam, and Sangsang Museum which was awarded KIA prize for year 2005. His drawings and installations have been exhibited in solo and group format at various museums. He also directs short films related to his architecture with the desire to expand the expressive potential of Architecture.
