Article source: Aude Borromée Architecte A renovation project for an apartment in Paris. A project which is based on transitions between texture, colors, tints and transparencies. Living spaces are designed and drawn with lots of details including the made to measure furniture. Functionally the idea was to plan two bedrooms with their own bathroom in small spaces and to imagine a kind of “invisible” kitchen in a wide living room.
A renovation that includes putting down the existing partitions & plan as well as rethinking all the technical aspects and above all redefining spaces; drawing all the furniture and the interior design and aesthetic. The main requirement of the landlords (a young couple) was to have a single big living room asking that they would not see their kitchen when seated in their sofa and however to have 7 meter long of storage for kitchenware. The program included also two bedrooms with each one their bathroom. The final projects brings richness & lightness to this wide living room from its organization, the way it is structured (the kitchen is located in the circulation flows, divided in three places and without any high elements), customized and flexible furniture (sliding panels…) and above all a whole play of colored stripes, lines & graphics and perspectives between the different rooms that reveal the transitions, the different materials, shades and transparencies. A project that reaches its functional goals while bringing a specific attention to the atmospheres and their interactivity. Contact Aude Borromée Architecte
