Article source: Hemonides Applied Arts The conceptual design for Nanolab was led by the client’s wish for a strong location branding. The final design to be executed however was limited by a relatively modest budget. The client was very aware of the importance of the interior design and maintained that the workspaces and workflow were to be executed precisely in a specific design as it was highly influential determining the business success.
In this design, the company’s corporate palette of light blue, grey-black and white was used along with a combination of various tactile surface materials such as glass, epoxy floors, corian and metal, which were used to reflect the hair salon’s brand identity. Upon entering the reception, the three corporate colours are immediately observed throughout the space. Bold signage is placed on the entrance wall with the agency’s name and logo, greeting the visitor. Upon completion, what was achieved was the creation of a bright and modern well-branded workplace that met the practical and character-creating needs of the new hair salon and was constructed within the primary allocated budget.
