The Loop in Hong Kong by Theo Texture

The LOOP is a 23-storey commercial building located in Central, Hong Kong, on a narrow rectangular-shape site. The design solution started out as a structural concept in response to the constraints of the site by running a folding floor slab from the bottom to the top of the building. When the building is view at its front façade, the edges of the folding slabs forms a “loop” shape, thus maximizing the glass frontage which is a full-height flushed window wall system. Cladded with white aluminum panels, this loop becomes the main feature of the building and the geometry is enhanced by a color-changing LED strip running along this loop.
