Article source: Explicit Architecture Explicit Architecture is working on the Explicit high-riser, an energy self-sufficient skyscraper and an independent city within a city. The focus is on a sustainable, economical, ecological, and energy-efficient design that benefits not only the people who live and work in the building, but also those in the surrounding city. The mega-structure currently measures 100 x 100 x 300 meters (L x W x H) and will accommodate all functions necessary for an urban area on approx. 400,000 m² of floor space, while offering a high quality of life on all levels.
The compact form is broken up by rifts and canyons, which also bring additional qualities in terms of light exposure, and natural ventilation and cooling. The building’s eastern, southern, and western vertical surfaces are fitted with photovoltaic and solar heat panels. Numerous platforms at various heights are planted with a multitude of trees, bushes, and other plants. The parks, ponds, and alleys of the mega structure add the flair of a rural area to the high-rise. This example of the skyscraper is projected in New York Central Park, in the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. A prototype will now be developed step by step, based on a comprehensive project development supported by expertise. Contact Explicit Architecture
