Article source: Zette Atelier S.R.O. The house for an eccentric client erected in the very middle of Černá za Bory belonging to a cadastral area of the town of Pardubice characterized s a heterogeneous suburban built-up area of a family housing type as far as expression is concerned, has been developed for several years. Even in spite of troublesome complications cause by inconsistency of civil contractors the project is coming to its end.
Circumstances It is not a family house. It looks like this but actually it is not. The real character of the building is based on a specific task. From the very beginning the Client had a clear idea of the character and usability of the Project – on the one hand he intended to use the house himself to “stay overnight” – thus, it was to provide for him some quiet escape from busy work hours and living in the downtown – on the other hand, he considered a potential possibility to let the living area to well-off clients. Original alternative of a bachelor flat with garage is easy to reach from the centre of the town of Pardubice (not only by car but also using city transport/or railway system) in few minutes; together with a combination of a peace of family housing and adjacent forest it is an ideal combination for manager who needs, above all, peace and quit to his recover, however, he also realizes he may have his job in another region within one or two years, so his not searching for his own housing. Considering the design basis the housing area is a hybrid of a project prepared both for particular client and ideal one. Combination of both approaches resulted in the original project while such originality does not reduce a potential of a commercial utilization. Layout Above mentioned factors, then, determined a house layout. It is erected on a simple rectangular plan area. On the Ground Floor there are garage, entrance hall, bath-room, WC and staircase area installed close to the north frontage. The main living area is linked to the outdoor terrace consisting of a living corner, dining room and kitchenette. As well, a guest room is adjacent to the terrace. The First Floor is accessible from the living room via single-flight stairs. Layout is designed without any demand for any corridor. The First Floor is open partly above the main living area where a study with cloak-room are situated. Architectonic solution One-storey building without a cellar, and with attic room, outdoor terrace and garage for passenger car is composed of two substances, a higher of them is ended with a pent roof. Severe appearance of entrance north frontage is completed by a low longitudinal window. French windows dominate to the south adjoined to the concrete terrace with an open pergola. The main two-storey house substance is covered with s smooth plaster, adjacent lower substance is lined by slabs of Cetris type. Contact Zette Atelier S.R.O.
