Article source: Coutinho & Ponce Architects This small recreation area is located in a site located on the outskirts of the city of Villahermosa and is part of the buildings that comprise the complex of the “Fifth Mama Ali”. The palapa is a common space for the four families living in the complex.
The conception of the project are two elements that make positive and negative. On the one hand we have the construction of the Palapa which is hinged by a grid of steel columns and covered by a concrete slab and reticular we contrast pool, a rectangular body with the same dimensions as the duality palapa complete project . A contrast of textures and materials, concrete and water, opaque and transparent. Materiality compose steel pillars, concrete slab, floor slip coated parts and pieces of tile in the pool.
