Faceted House 2 in London, United Kingdom by Paul McAneary Architects LtdDecember 19th, 2012 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: Paul McAneary Architects Ltd Faceted House 2 is PMA’s second explotion into angling the rear extension of a property to achieve the maximum sunlight exposure. Following the success of Faceted House 1, this project explores this faceted dimension further. A large double fronted open plan ground floor was created, only a cent!l staircase dividing the space for a looping plan.
The largest wooden f!med glass doors possible, in warm tones, were used on the faceted edge, they open out to create an excellent garden room for entertaining. The staggering size and scale of the glazing creates the maximum possible transparency between the inside and outside spaces. A linear office on the first floor was added to look out over the garden, where intricate planting and landscaping aid the beautiful garden-room intent. Contact Paul McAneary Architects Ltd
