Article source: 2InStudio The project consists of a small village house in a distinct part of a property located in the village of Momchilovci in the Rhodopi Mountains, Bulgaria. The starting point was that the contractor wanted a very small house right next to his bigger one so that he can use it only for the weekends.
The existing house is too big for a 2-day usage especially during the winter months so high up the mountain. He wanted something simple, rustique that reminds of the old bulgarian village houses. The purpose of this new building in the same property is simple – it has to be made in an energy efficient manner. In other means it has to be able to become habitable with a maximum of comfort for its owners in a minimum of time. Example : The family arrives on friday, and in only a couple of hours the house is already warmed on the inside and the wine is ready to be served at room temperature. This we have made by placing an addtional insulation on the inside of the external walls as well as on the outside. The internal one is thinner (only 30mm. Styrofoam) so the wall becomes breathable and allows the warmth so stay inside the dwelling instead of going into the brickwork and loosing precious time on heating the walls instead of providing the necessary comfort so it can be enjoyed for a short period of time. In a few words, this little house is designed to provide you with comfort and peace high up the mountain without worrying about the cold weather outside. Contact 2 In Studio
