CASA ZR in San Luis Potosi, México by TaAG Arquitectura

The project comes on the first \”closed\” residential subdivision in San Luis Potosi City, with regulations very oppressive and contradictory, where a colonial Mexican style is required (with all complications and possible interpretations of the theme)
The challenge was to get a house with a ‘contemporary’ language despite the regulation that was designed to build houses with the classical typologies of the eighties.

We chose a conventional scheme, a plant in \”L\” slightly enlarged to the center, where the volumes of the house are simple, strong and predominantly blind outward. Opposed to the “baroque” and uninteresting aesthetics that predominates in the condo.

At the ground level, in the wide part of the \”L\” is the social area of the house with a double height glazed enriching the space experience. With glazed panels that open completely to the terraces, the cinema and the garden, which multiplies the social area and merges it. The other area that complements the plant corresponds to the kitchen with a small courtyard with a reflecting pool, the access to services, a warehouse and the garage which is the floated volume that has more presence on the main facade.

The upstairs level is organized through the stairs distributor which organizes the three main areas of the private area of the house: the library, the children’s bedrooms and the master bedroom. The library is located in a middle floor (garages volume) with a spectacular view over San Miguelito hill.

The master bedroom has the TV room adjoining, which through wooden sliding doors can be integrated into the bedroom or operate as family room. Additionally at the other wing of the plant, are located the children’s bedrooms with bathroom and closet. One of them has view to the interior garden and the other to the front of the property. At the third level are located the services and the laundry, which have stairs independent to the main stairs with access to all levels of the house which makes it very functional in daily domestic operation.
