Article source: Giovanni Moreno Arquitectos Two family house located in a middle-class neighborhood of Fusagasuga, a small town one hour near from Bogotá, Colombia. The program is based on to place two separate families in few 9 meters wide by 16 meters deep; that means that each house has few 4.50 meters wide.
In order to generate the sensation of a big house, the facade was designed to give the appearance of a only one building. Each house building consists of 180m2, plus a terrace balcony on the top floor next to the living room. The principal concept was to maximize the spaces via an open structure which allow permeability between the different zones of the house, avoiding in that way a heavy structure that delimit the spaces with walls and unnecessary divisions. White color was chosen in order to generate the feeling of openness. Large windows overlooking the front and back are responsible for giving birth to all living areas. On the bathrooms, the black marble float was used; also, it was installed sinks in different colors in order to generate character in each one. The bathrooms divisions are made of tempered glass and the shower has beautiful tiles. The social area and the services area are in the ground floor, allowing integration of the kitchen. The backyard is separated by a white glass. The master bedroom and the other bedroom are located on the second floor; the guest´s bedroom and TV room are situated on the third floor next to the terrace where is possible to see the park what is located in front of the house.
