This project made use of the Ventilated Façade horizontal installation system. The design of the panel used is Water with the wave in a vertical direction with a white, 1800×560 mm panel format. The project author Javier Aja Cantalejo wished to lend personality to the façade by carrying out a panel joint with a constant displacement and which makes the building’s horizontality more pronounced.

ACXT has designed a modular building with independent accesses for each of the different uses. It is a versatile property which may evolve over time and gradually adapt to the future needs of the centre.

The U-shaped building in the ground plan has a total constructed surface area of 20,200 m2 and 168 apartments with a maximum capacity of 308 users. In theory, 32 of the apartments will be intended for young people with emancipation problems and the rest to the elderly who previously lived in the former Home “Reina de la Paz”.

This is the second project we are carrying out with the Architecture studio ACXT- IDOM and the IBAIONDO Civic Centre in Vitoria is the first joint collaboration with this company. In both cases our “Water” panel has been selected which is characterised by the wave shape it has and the orientation thereof may vary, carrying out some very interesting colour interplays depending on the light. The works were completed in 7 and a half months.
