Article source: MIRAG
This small pavilion is an extension of the hospital of Sant Pere de Ribes (Barcelona). MIRAG had the will of creating a more domestic space for patients with a terminal disease. The patients can use a welcoming private space where they have a ‘relation area’ and a ‘personal area’ with visual contact with the countryside surroundings. The pavilion has 3 private units and also a common area -where workshop can be held-.
The building facade camouflages itself with the environment, imitating the crop fields around it by using the same colours. This effect is achieved thanks to the material used.
With this pavilion, MIRAG created a new concept of healthcare unit for people with terminal illnesses, which has been instituted in different hospitals around Spain.
