The project of the Pharmacy Museum is the result of the close relationship between the architecture and the museography since the beginning. The Museum is at the basement of an existing building, contemporary and multifunctional.
The definition of the exhibition space starts from the aim of keeping visible the mesh of the existing structural slab above, creating a geometric reference which together with a white and bright ambience reinforce the concept of limit.
The exhibition and its contents define the space, disposed in transparent containers that allowed a global visualization of the space and reinforce the contrast between the exhibition space and pharmaceutical historical environments representations – Estácio Pharmacy in oporto and the Islamic pharmacy. The Islamic pharmacy is being restored in a very careful process and will be placed in site as soon as it will be ready .
