designLSM at the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2013
designLSM’s design for The Roxy has won the best designed bar in London award at the 2013 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.
With an established reputation for it’s dancefloor and late night club nights, designLSM’s successful interior design has also helped to attract an early evening crowd to this high profile destination.
designLSM’s Box Project
Our design for Box 1 started with the working title ‘Wood’ and a colour palette limited to white, so taking inspiration from natural wooden forms, as well as architectural timber structures and installations, we chose to play with texture, shapes, light and shadows to create our space.
The character of the Farmiloe building itself was also an inspiration, especially as the space we were given has a lot of existing columns, so we created our bar design to physically work around these, whilst remaining visually strong in its own right.
We found all the materials we were given to work with very interesting, however Dendrolight, (a light weight engineered solid wood material with low swelling and low glue content) really stood out for us, because it’s a relatively new product to the market and something we haven’t worked with before.
designLSM’s Box Project designers were Steve La Bouchardiere and Clare Devlin.
