Delivered in 2013, the Unijet terminal is located at the heart of the biggest business aviation platform in Europe. It is composed of a 1,200 sqmnew building dedicated to the company’s offices and VIP lounges, 600 sqm of planes’service rooms housed in an adjoining hangar and 1,000 sqm of enclosed areasmade of a 20 placescar parkand 250 sqm of landscaping.
The urban shape of Le Bourget Airport is characterized by a front of huge hangars between which are placed each company’s terminals. A contradictory situation derives from this, where technical buildingspredominate on reception areas. To reverse this tendency, the new Unijet terminal has been enlarged with a patio and a terrace and the fence has been composed as a façade, to stretch the building to the edges of the estate.
The facade of the new Unijet terminal is a lightweight, perforated structure on which a smooth skin made of glass and stainless steel mesh has been fixed. Each part has been designed and manufactured so as to become part of a system and serve several functions according to the orientation: high performing thermal insulation, acoustic softening, waterproofing, protection against wind and dust, sign base, view framing, adornment set, etc.
