A basic requirement to handle the processing of small orders as well asspect acular large-scale projects in the future is a broad and well-functioning infrastructure.This refers, among other things, to the mining of raw materials(gravel, clay, etc.) and further processing those materials into finished products such ascement.  Image Courtesy © Kurt Hörbst Therefore in 2006 the corporate group decidedto construct a new cement plant inthesouthern HungarianSzentlörincin the communityKiralyegthaza, run in a joint venture with Lafarge cement holding since 2010 and completed in 2011. The possibility to upgrade the local traffic conditions, the proximity to the Limestone quarry Bükkösd and not leastthe close proximity to the University city of Pécsfavored the choice of the location and allows an annual production capacity of 630 to 800 kilotons o fcement. The largest buildings in this area are the transfer hall, the so called “kiln line” (consisting ofpreheater, kilna nd theclinkercooler), as well astheclinkergrinding plant.However, the distinctiveandwidely visiblelandmark of the plantis the furnacewith a height of 95 meters. Image Courtesy © Kurt Hörbst Anyways, there has been still a large variety of design options such as landscape and openspaceplanning,facade design, as well as the main intention of a qualitativehighlighting thepanoramiceffect of themajor tectonicedifices. Not to reserve the architectural interventions to the approximately 90 employees and their guests but to make it accessible to a broader public was the ulterior motive to design even the highest and therefore largely visible building structures. The look of the cement plant inSzentlörinc refers to the concept of modernity of Robert Venturi, who criticized: “The contrast between the Interior and the exteriorcan beone of themain manifestationsof thecontradictions inherent inthe architecture” (Insideand Outside,1966). Our work in the field of urban development includes concepts formulation for framework projects, housing development and land use planning and management designs, as well as draft designs for area overwhelming development aiming at optimal solutions formulation as the legally adopted backbone for design development. As a general designer, we would like to offer implementation of full set of architectural and engineering work. Thus, the developer deals with the sole partner under the contract. Apart from reduction of contact persons’ number in course of project work execution and making of contracts, the client shall enjoy a comprehensive range of services in the field of designing scheduling and implementation. As a general designer, we are in a position to involve European companies possessing maximum skills, experience and proficiency in relevant fields (statics, MEP networks and equipment, physics of civil engineering, fire protection etc.).
