Article source: Banker Wire The AECOM project encompassed the consolidation of seven operating companies into one integrated office space in Atlanta, GA. The space was to reflect the progressive culture of the company. Designers were charged with utilizing the existing mahogany wood-clad elevator lobby without compromising the contemporary design intent.
To achieve this, they layered two different styles of Banker Wire architectural wire mesh panels – F-48 and M13Z-187 – over the existing wood panels to integrate them with the rest of the design elements. Each wall panel of wire mesh is framed with a U-edge perimeter frame and held off the wall with stand-offs. The mix of wire mesh densities provides this office space with an innovative feel. Lighting enhanced the contrast of the wood and sparkle of the mesh to create a unique back drop for the firm’s logo. The stainless steel architectural wire mesh added textural interest and helps the suite’s main lobby make a striking first impression. This 52,000 RSF space achieved LEED CI Gold Certification. It was designed by Amy Lowey of VeenendaalCave, Inc., Atlanta. The fabricator was R.F. Knox Company of Smyrna, GA.
