Article source: Gage/Clemenceau Architects This renovation project, for a small apartment renovation in Manhattan came with numerous challenges. The greatest, perhaps was an extremely limited space. In any small space the walls and furnishings are close together— and, Gage / Clemenceau Architects capitalized on this fact by recognizing that if things are close together –they can be easily touched.
Accordingly, the walls and furnishing within reach of the seating areas were custom designed to have sensuous 3d wave patterns carved deep into smooth black walnut. These patterns provide an intimate and tactile warmth where things are close but irresistibly touchable. Contact Gage/Clemenceau Architects
