Located on the outskirts of the city of Santiago de Chile, in the Valley of Chicureo, “Los Bosques house” belongs to a young family who previously lived in an apartment in a high density area of the district of Las Condes, Downtown Santiago.
For them the expression of contemporary house played a key role in the project. Simple lines, flexible spaces, outside-inside connection and a central courtyard were part of their duties.

He, who works for the marketing of a winery, wanted to have his thoughts reflected in the design process, which is why the origin of the proposal was a joint effort with the owner, his role was critical in the designing process.

The irregularity of the terrain and the particular need of dividing public spaces from private ones, resulted in a central courtyard which generates two right angles, where the access is located.

The location in the field of this two angles obeys to its boundaries. The gaps between the built are used to generate the access and the courtyard, this one gives external light to the living room of the children and the corridor leading to its 3 bedrooms .
The main bedroom is located on the second floor, oriented to the views of the hills.

The public space has no divisions between their enclosures, only the kitchen, which makes it possible to isolate through a slider door. The continuous pavement outside-inside and the glass facade of the living room allow you to expand and enjoy the garden inside the house.

The materiality of architectural concrete, wooden frames and the floor of staves of disused wine barrels give an honesty to the house, which allows to grow old with dignity.
