Article source: Minimal USA Minimal USA has designed the kitchen, the master bathroom, the guest bathroom and the other secondary bath for a luxury apartment in the Upper East Side, New York. Entering the apartment, the attention is caught by the open space between the two walls that surround the area of the kitchen, used as a bar that lets to glimpse the stylish kitchen.
Moving to the left, passing the modern living room, there is the kitchen’s entrance with an adjacent pantry cleverly embedded in the wall, becoming an integral part of the column. This small kitchen of only 43 square feet, is equipped with every comfort, hidden by white lacquered cabinets. On the left side: fridge, freezer, cooktop and oven all by Gaggenau; on the right side: dishwasher by Miele and microwave by GE. On the short side, the shelf of the same material of the kitchen, blends in with the wall. The design choice of the white countertop, not only lights up the small space, but also makes the kitchen sleek and clean while the upper cabinets complete the storage system with which the kitchen is equipped. Next to the living room, it’s possible to find the first of the bathrooms designed also by Minimal USA: the guest bathroom. This sculpture-like cube vanity, in glossy white lacquer, not only enhances the elegance of the bathroom, but also is a sleek solution for giving more storage space, thanks to its opening bottom drawer with mitered 45° edge. The integrated sink, surrounded by the Corian top, takes up the theme of the mosaic on the wall, keeping the design fluid. The same sleek design solution is found also in the secondary bathroom. The cube vanity integrates in this bathroom a square sink, carved directly from the top made of Corian. Minimal USA has provided the fixtures also for the tub/shower. Last but not least, the master bathroom. The large rectangular vanity, catches the eye with its horizontal groove in the middle and its mitered 45° edges which leaves open the drawers easily. The two large sinks are, this time, leaning against the top made in Corian. On the right side of the bathroom, Minimal USA has designed a wardrobe that not only gives more storage space, but also represents an elegant solution for the overall design of the room. The outstanding wardrobe is made of the same material of the vanity and its mitered edge allows it to close perfectly, turning it into a free standing column yet camouflaged from the sight.
