The 4 star superior Hotel Radisson Blu in Hamburg with its exceptional design is located in the heart of the vibrant metropolis Hamburg directly next to the ICE Dammtor train station and the downtown oasis, the botanical garden „Planten un Blomen“. For demanding business travellers and tourists, the hotel is an ideal spot within Hamburg downtown area with stylish ambience, first class service and an unique panorama view over the city of Hamburg.
From this place only a footwalk away there are shopping areas at Jungfernstieg, many cultural attraction, the great Alster lake and as well the Hamburg exhibition area. With the opening of the the stylish lounge-bar „The Room“ in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg gained a new hotspot with a worldwide unique item: a nine meter long bar made with LUCEM Light Transmitting Concrete with thousands of individually controlled LED lights synchronised to the music. „The Room“, both a bar and a club, is located in the souterrain of the hotel, in the rooms of the former „Trader Vic´s“, a polynesian restaurant with cocktail bar. A modernisation and reorganisation of the rooms has been planned and professionally organized by the star-designer Frank. B. Theuerkauf. The aim: The development of a contemporary crowd puller. For the redesign, the focus has been put to a stylish-atmospherical room layout, which provides completely new dimensions. For this, Theuerkauf used breathtaking highlights, such as a nine meter long bar and wall completely covered with backlit LUCEM Light Transmitting Concrete allowing to glow synchronised with the music. With its infrastructure regarding technical aspects and design approaches, this spectacular club „The Room“ is not only in Hamburg a number one place: this type of bar with its single LED spot backlight is absolutely unique worldwide in the year 2014. The translucent concrete transmits the backlight through thousands of optical fibers to its surface, and begins in this way to glow from its inner core. Behind the LUCEM panels which are made from panel in the format 120 cm x 60 cm with 15 mm thickness LED spots have been installed in a distance of approx. 15 cm. With a software any light scenarios can be shown, both as a stand alone version or synchronised with the music system in the club: statical colors, color changes up to moving light shows. In total, 40 sqm of LUCEM LINE have been installed, with a frame of steel and a natural stone silicone for fixing. Other high end features, such as a glowing ceiling construction made with alveolar shaped modules, a fire place and a variety of cozy lounge areas provide a unique design of this world class Bar+Club „The Room“.
