Home Spa in Bratislava, Slovakia by architekti.sk

Home Spa is situated in Slovakia’s capital Bratislava. The key idea of our project was to create a “relaxing & chill-out spot” with 3 parking places, situated in a hilly garden behind the client’s family historical residence.

The ‘Home Spa’ is interconnected with the neobaroque object both at garage level and a green roof situated above the garage. The concept of rotation and placement of the object to a supporting wall enabled us to create a spacious covered terrace, providing the client’s with an intimate privacy so rare to find these days in the center of Bratislava.

The upper terrace, with the parking, is accessible through a raw steel-made staircase on the side, settled directly in the terrain with any additional man-made adjustments. The natural rusting process delivers a unique play of colors. Original spruces were stabilized and preserved during the construction works. We also planted rhododendrons, lavenders and something to nibble (grapes, raspberries, strawberries and gooseberries) under the threes., Image Courtesy © Tomáš Manina

Large garage covered with a green roof  was designed as a gallery. The first floor belongs to a relax zone – wellness with a pool, whirlpool, sauna and a tepidarium. The entire ‘Home Spa’ is visually interlinked with the garden, which flat area was made larger thanks to additional greenery while preserving all original spruces.

The cranked wooded ceiling reflects the water surface and simultaneously hides technology above. The water’s flat-surface was designed with an overflow system covered with a wooden rim. There’s tight watercourse surrounding the pool aimed to avoid pool’s pollution. The wooden floor is designed as a marine floor., Image Courtesy © Tomáš Manina

The interior’s airiness and spaciousness is being created by fix-frame windows with terrace exits. The interior’s furniture reflects the house’s charisma and character, where an old cozy couch found also its place. , Image Courtesy © Tomáš Manina

Build-in LED lights emphasize the wooden ceilings’ cranking at night. The jacuzzi casing smoothly merges into flower pot’s line and finishes in fitness zone’s operating upper panel. The 11-meters long pool has salty water, fitted with back flow and a massage nozzle built-in in a flower pot’s rim. , Image Courtesy © Tomáš Manina

The natural light penetrates the house through an oblong light-tunnel placed above a flower pot. A sophisticated bedding of the airflow system prevents dewing of the glass. The flowers and plants we used were specifically selected for this climate with salty waters., Image Courtesy © Tomáš Manina

The impression of an interlinked linear element of jacuzzi, flower-pot and and the control panel is emphasized with LED back-lights. The peripheral wall was made from large-format molds imprinted directly into concrete. , Image Courtesy © Tomáš Manina
