Article source: ARCO Arquitectura Contemporánea This project was for the design of the common areas of the residential complex Skyview located in Colonia del Valle in Mexico City. The spaces are: lobby, gym, children area, SPA, swimming pool and general circulations. The result maintains the contemporary atmosphere of all the complex, but with special elements for each area to create the individual functionality of each one.  Image Courtesy © Jaime Navarro
 Image Courtesy © Jaime Navarro Natural materials such as marble, stone and wood were used in the lobby to generate a monochromatic ambiance in which the individual characteristics of each material stand out. The marble vein generates a pattern that gives accent to the furniture and contrast to the plafond. The representative elements in this space are the reception bar that was done in single piece of black limestone and the receptions back wall where the mail boxes for each department are located. The lighting design for this area was done with indirect light with some suspended and standing lamps to enhance the warmth.  Image Courtesy © Jaime Navarro For the circulations the walls were painted in a neutral color to increase the light and the corridors have some custom design lamps. The metallic plafond combines with the signal elements that were cut in steel to harmonize with the atmosphere of the whole project.  Image Courtesy © Jaime Navarro The gym is located next to the pool´s terrace, the floors have dark wood and the partitions were done in aluminum and wide glasses to make the most of the spectacular views. The swimming pool is covered and has rectangular shape. The lighting design and furniture for this area are special for outdoors and the perfect match for this area where magnificent views may also be enjoyed. The floors is a big color collage made in vinyl that is soft, resistant and very hygienic, so the children may enjoy in total freedom and let their imagination fly away with the many activities that can be done in this space.  Image Courtesy © Jaime Navarro In the SPA stone materials such as black slab for the walls and flamed granite for the floors were used. The bathroom doors are in tempered glass and the furniture was custom made according to the contemporary style to resume health care space with fantastic views. It has a relaxation area with Jacuzzi and a resting room.
