Article source: A-ASTERISK The project is located in Saertu District of Daqing City, with the north of the district facing the government buildings and to its west flows the Liming River. The total site area is about 170,000 square meters. The design assignment includes semi-detached house, 6 floor residence, high-rise residence and commercial communities, kindergartens, gymnasiums, underground garage space and ancillary equipment.
Our design philosophy is to create the beauty of rationality. According to the climatic conditions of cold regions, we not only endeavor to meet the needs of the functions and comforts of residential units, but also consider the maximization of landscape value, lighting effects, and energy savings, to create a beauty based on the deliberation of these rational factors. The overall layout. The semi-detached villas are arranged in a southeastern part of the land plot, 6 floor residence in the middle, high-rises on the northwest corner. From southeast to northwest, the buildings are arranged from low to high, so that as many residents can enjoy the open waterfront landscape of Liming River as possible. 6 floor residence and high-rise apartments all face due south, and the southern facade are installed with large area of glass, so maximum sunlight is guaranteed. The disadvantage in the north-south layout for the buildings is that unfavorable gusts of strong east-west cold winds will take away indoor heat from the glass surface of the building’s exterior walls. Accordingly, we have designed the facade with as many vertical cylindrical elements as possible, protruding the glass surface for 550mm, to weaken the strong east-west cold winds’ contacts with the exterior walls and glass, and the uneven outer wall with convex protrusions can also reduce the intensity of the cold wind to further the energy saving effect in winter. Meanwhile, the cylindrical element and the exterior walls have adopted the red color of the Forbidden City and an elegant white color respectively, making a strong eye-catching visual impact. Three hues of red have given the building complex with fun and vitality, forming a unique new urban landscape in Daqing. As Daqing Saertu District Government is located on the north side of the plot of land, we designed an entrance with a setback distance as wide as 80 meters, leaving enough area a plaza, a buffer against government buildings and a user-friendly space to public. In the southern entrance of the complex, a 250 meter-long internal road has been designed and both sides of the road have been covered with slopes, and low walls of plants. The road forks off to multi-storey and villa sections separately, with the villas being completely hidden behind slopes or low walls of plants, creating the privacy of the internal landscape of the villa section.
