Located near Syntagma Square, the central square of Athens, adjacent to The Parliament House and at the foot of the Parthenon, this seven (7) storey building was built in the early 1960s and started life as an office building with retail showroom on the ground floor.  The site was bought in its entirety and converted to a boutique hotel in response to the shortage of hotel rooms and the growing need for quality affordable holiday accommodation in central Athens.

The brief required interior architecture, interior design, interior decorating, styling and restoration capabilities.

Through the main entrance, the lobby subtly directs guests towards the reception desk while the sunken lounge invites guests to a warm and welcoming environment by the use of natural materials, like timber, stone & leather seating throughout.  Maintaining the natural theme, grey neutral stone was used on the floor and the walls, creating a seamless and expansive feeling while allowing the furniture to POP.  A subtle pattern on the stone clad walls and the use of sheer curtains softens the space and evokes a luxury urban feeling.

From the lobby, there is access to the upper dining room/restaurant on the mezzanine level and to the lower level, which houses the business centre and public conveniences (toilets), both via illuminated glass staircases (or elevator).  The dining room is autonomous which allows it to be used for private functions and events.

Access to the hotel rooms and roof top observation deck and cocktail lounge is via an opulently dressed elevator of suede leather, glass, mirrors and concealed lighting, setting the mood.

The suites are beautifully appointed and furnished carrying the warm natural theme throughout.  Warm colours, natural materials and subdued lighting induce a state a calmness and relaxation.  The clever use of orange glass as the shower cubicle provides both privacy and a feature and focal point.
