The project for remodeling the store SmokeSignals in Matosinhos seeks to create boundaries within the existing space in order to suggest atmospheres in the use of the furniture and utensils.
In the showcase, the dark gray structure, with strips of pine wood, allows a great flexibility in the application of lighting and temporary fixings on the walls and on the ceiling systems. The use of the area above the showcase promotes a second exhibition open space to the street and into the store.
To access the upper area of the showcase there’s a ladder which also functions as a shelf for the showcase of the house small tools.
The pine wood was also used in screens with strips placed horizontally that configures small dining or living rooms.
On the walls and ceilings of the store was used a \”hot\” green, the light concrete of the ground floor remained original, the upper floor´s gray rug covers all the rooms and the lighting is achieved with the use of lamps and fixtures exposed for commercialization.
