Article source: IMARCHITECT The story of a building, very often, that of the family that has lived. The new owners wanted to mold the existing building to have a living space conform to their way of life.
The history of the house, its origins in the field of metal constructions; an image of this story, struck our imagination: the memory of the control cabin of the workshop, from which one could see the whole world of the family production. This became the generating idea. Our concept of the building is that of a space that expresses the transcendent nature of the human being, enclosed space that evokes memories and sensations. Living space not as a machine but as imperfect place, in which to find their loved ones. The entrance to the house is done through the pavement that forces you to stop under a porch rustic character, indigenous; the house was built in reinforced concrete and rocks, cover porch one can see the tiles from the bottom, evoking memories of the past. Entering a new world there is striking for its pleasant opposition with the outside, we are entering the lives of the owners. If outside, the building appears closed, dark, archaic; the interior is spacious, bright, stylish and contemporary. What is striking is the unexpected change of scale between the outside of the porch and the living inside. The double height of the living area announces the primary importance that this takes place in the world of domestic life. As mentioned, the importance of this place is enhanced by the double height of a part of it, the space, which comes to life the “dream family” and where, the control room at the top, checking the passage of people downstairs . This architectural element, allows us to widen the field of view, and the perception that one has of the space from the living room revealing the beams of the ceiling of the bedroom mail to “guard” the entrance. This space, in contrast to the morphological language of the dwelling in its outer part. The use of materials and colors pursues the search for a smart, thoughtful and friendly; the colors chosen, as the materials are few, the only note of color, is characterized by yellow glass door of the kitchen; This, is the episode feature beloved by the owner. The yellow door is repeated in the opposite wall of the kitchen, where it was placed the fireplace. To increase the importance of the fire, and in turn define the center of the kitchen; He used a stone that is at the top in the doors of the containers placed under the shelf cooking. In turn, the steel shelf has been raised with respect to the working plane of the entire kitchen, made with a soft material and neutral as Corian. The first floor includes two master bedrooms, each of which features a different aspect that pursues the ideal housing of different users; the bathroom, acquires the value of an intimate space in which pursues the ideal of achieving much-desired rest. The plaster of clay, wood floors treated with natural oils and the wooden ceiling elevates the quality of space, often considered exclusively by its mere utilitarian point of view, taking away all the poetry that could take. This example of intervention on building already built, expressing our interest in defining the importance that, for the quality of life, a place designed to express the values and lifestyle of the people in the areas of housing, to that is, these are not simply living spaces, but places that can be called home.
