Lux11 Hotel in Berlin, Germany by 1+1=1 Claudio Silvestrin Giuliana Salmaso architects
The Lux11 Hotel and Residence in Berlin, owned by the Chambers group, is the first completed project by the creative duo 1+1=1 Claudio Silvestrin Giuliana Salmaso architects.
The complex is comprensive of 72 serviced apartments.
The typical room is organized as a monolithic open space in which everything is finished in concrete except for a “strip” of wood linking the bed, desk an sitting area together.
The bathroom unit is a unique sculptured feature open towards the room.
The chromatic choice is refreshing: subdued green china for the concrete, warm color wood, brown leather for the curtains and canvas for the upholstery. The choice of these materials gives a balanced tension between the hardness and roughness of the concrete and the gentle and smooth touch of the fabric, of the leather and of the wood.
