Parquet Diffusion Showroom Imola – PRQ – 2011 in Italy by Bartoletti Cicognani architettura e designJuly 23rd, 2015 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: Bartoletti Cicognani architettura e design The Parquet Diffusion showroom is situated in the partially renovated former mill of Santa Cristina, Imola, to which has been joined a new volume of different colors and materials. The goal of our client was to make wood play the leading role of the project, and the result is deliberately far from what you could see in the average retail space.
The approach we followed during the renovation of the old mill, was the preservation of the historical features of the building: we choose dark colors and materials like black iron and glass, so as to provide a smooth integration between the existing elements and the new ones. These spaces host the management, the executive spaces and the reception, while the exposition and sales are sited in the new building. For the new building we preferred lighter tones of color, transparencies and light cuts, intended to appraise the product on show. The furnishing is custom-designed, and every detail is perfected to smoothly integrate in the architectural design, like the inner court, conceived as a natural extension of the showroom. |
