Article source: Fischer Architekten AG Competition, Dübendorf 2012, first place: The new building takes over the typology of the block edge. It thereby optimally reacts to the urban element of the avenue on the west side and to the high noise and traffic emissions on the east and south sides of the plot.
The building responds differentially to the immediately adjacent neighbouring areas – for example, by receding in the northwest and south to create the necessary spatial distance to the planned high-rise building and adjacent traffic intersection. A courtyard in the complex acts as a \”green lung\” and extends the living space of each apartment. It is connected to the neighbouring streets on all sides. Additional entrances intended only for residents are located in the courtyard. The clear structure of the building generates a high degree of flexibility in the formulation of the total of twelve apartment types. The references to the outdoor spaces determine the development of their floor layouts. Contact Fischer Architekten AG
