 Image Courtesy © Ole Hein By using reflective surfaces inside the studio we have worked with the reflection of images and light in an attempt to “bring the view down into the studio”. A kind of optical space – a house which works as an external mirror. The new element is one homogeneous element in contrast to the white plastered facades of the old house. The project is both contextual and innovative. In its shape and colour it blends in with the existing farmhouses while at the same time offering new spatial feeling and qualities due to it’s small innovative solutions. In principle the interior functions as an enlarged window mirror: in danish: “et Gadespejl”  Image Courtesy © Ole Hein  Image Courtesy © Ole Hein By using mirrors on the inside, we treated reflections of pictures and light in an attempt to achieve various depths in a relatively small space. Thus the outside world became ever-present. By placing the 3 different light openings asymmetrically, the travelling of the light provides a special ambience to the room. The light is reflected and reproduced in the “window mirror”. From the outside the new studio appears as a prism that grows out from the old stable. The roof and the facade of the new building is conceived as a single unit, where solar collectors, sheets, and windows are in the same level.
