 Image Courtesy © Roger Frei The compact building volume with an organic floor plan represents a synthesis of the building types in the neighbourhood. Without losing its specific autonomy, the design interacts with the surrounding context and binds the existing topography, with its two piled up mounds above former water tanks, which give the location its historical identity, into the new garden estate.  Image Courtesy © 2b architectes  Image Courtesy © 2b architectes The building draws together different geometries to create an overall form that reduces its presence with the facade surfaces in staggered alignment, while also offering a differentiated image of the building volume. This allowed it to pick up on the simple, modest character of the neighbouring buildings without losing any of its own stratégies urbaines concrètes independence.  Image Courtesy © Roger Frei The typologies of the differently sized apartments all follow the same design concept, which expands the entrance areas into the living areas. The space thereby created benefits from the special geometry of the building and opens it out to the daylight, allowing the apartments to appear larger and be used in a variety of ways.
