Article source: Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt Update and refresh of the John Ruskin College campus through a series of refurbishment works and the design of a new Learning Resource Centre (LRC).
The first phase of work, undertaken during the summer break, consists of refurbishments to classrooms, toilets and corridors, as well as a new day nursery. The second phase of work, converting the existing library into a new LRC with staff and welfare offices and boardroom, was undertaken during term time with minimal disruption to teaching. Emphasis has been placed on the development of flexible spaces that can be adapted to meet the students’ needs both now and in the future. A new ‘inhabitable wall’ provides study and breakout space, while ‘Spanish steps’ create an area for group teaching and socialising. Contact Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt
