Article source: equipo olivares arquitectos The home starts up from a very steep topography and it´s main picture or idea is inspired by the traditional agriculture terraces. Thereby, we try to imitate the builded volume to a landscape that has been traditionally manipulated to this landscape criteria. So, we project a simple volume organized in steps, where the clean cut solutions formally joint to a discreet palette materials, gives this home the sufficient formal clarity and program.  Image Courtesy © Render4tomorrow We where concerned about the access solution and the interior communications. There fore we start conceiving a desk covered with a garden that separates itself from the street by a dissuasive prickly pear plantation. Underneath it, a hosting garage-courtyard arrises through which the access to the home begins, catching sight of the impressive views seen through the concrete lattice, which filters the light inspired in the palomeros walls of the insular agriculture. From here we get to the wooded courtyard, a walk that maximizes the different points of views and turns to get to the bedrooms lobby, a halfway space related to the garden and the southern light.  Image Courtesy © Render4tomorrow One floor below, a clean and fluent space connects the different daytime uses (kitchen, dinning room, sitting room, playing area, library) with the garden, through a generous porch gifted with a shade thanks to the counterbalanced doors disposition that, horizontally arranged, act also as pergolas.  Image Courtesy © Render4tomorrow Each terrace is a created garden of native species, from prickly pears to cactus on the deck, to tabaibas and cardones on top of the bed rooms body and piteras and fruit trees in the last terrace of all, which treetops will lean out, outlining the swimming pool terrace panorama.  Image Courtesy © Render4tomorrow The materials chosen derive from the normative (natural stone plating the embankments) and from the idea of allowing a bright lecture, predominating the white parameters, the use of wood in the outdoors and the clear concretes, achieving low maintenance: a volume derived from an insular landscape without resigning to its contemporary appearance.
