Article source: Dion Seminara Architecture Queenslanders are homes built up off the ground which are often falsely thought to be naturally cool in summer. They are actually designed to keep the area under the home cool. The homes themselves aren’t well insulated and can get quite hot.
This home was originally a 2 bedroom cottage which has now been transformed into a 3 bedroom, two storey home. A feature of the renovation is that it maximizes cross breezes through the use of louvers particularly high level louvers. It also allows in plenty of natural light, making it a very inexpensive home to run. The kitchen features black veneer cabinets that work thanks to the clerestory above the kitchen which brings in ample natural light. Contact Dion Seminara Architecture
