Presented project is a refurbrishment of a villa built in the communist times and settled in a picturesque forrest nearby Warsaw. The house was rearranged and expanded several times. In late 90’s an indoor pool was added. The Client, a family 2+2, decided that it’s form and function doesn’t fit their current requirements and decided to refrubrish it one more time.

Architects decided to simplify the plans and external form of the building. Messy and additive form was limited to two simple volumes with a pitched roof connected by a horizontal pavillion with roof-terrace. The indoor pool was dismounted.

It was a challenge to connect the house with the surrounding garden. The project feautures large window openings and ground terraces, visually connecting the interior with the forrest around it.

The formal division reflects the functional areas of the house. One of the pitched roof volumes is dedicated to parents, while the other – to children and a home office. They both connect on base level, which contains the entrance, a kitchen, a dining area and a living room. Garages and all technical & storage rooms are located on the existing underground level.
