Article source: Panacom The territory of the former wagon-repair factory \”Sofia\” includes preserved buildings and manufactories of the factory from the early 20th century. Under conditions of the renovation of this historical space we tried to implement the basic principles of cultural design, use the basic principles of classicism in our project. The main planning axis, starting from the building of the shopping center (Saves workshop building) runs through the whole territory and dissolves in nature. The core of the residential complex becomes the canal. The quarterly buildings facades solution was carried out using contemporary architectural language, but using regularities of building’s classic facade. Most of the site area presents by residential area, which includes neighborhoods, residential buildings, apartment buildings-cylinders, children’s institutions, trade and service complex, FLC and garages. The boulevards channel and pond axis unites areas as well as green territory of parks. Areas with dense buildings are interspersed with open spaces, parks and public spaces. We offer three types of \”Park\”: a memorial or historical, regular or \”French\” and an irregular or \”English\”. Transport idea of the project – the exception of transit through the residential complex and the reduction of traffic in it to a minimum.
