Article source: STUDIO RAMOPRIMO The design for BuonaBocca winebar in Beijing revolves around the use of the brick as central decorative element. We were playing with local cheap materials and with the existing condition of the space to make the most out of it. In particular, we were creating some brick patterns on wall based on our “Hutong Material Catalogue” research that were recently developed for the last edition of Beijing Design Week 2015. We were also designing logo and V.I., customized furniture and two large geometric custom-made chandeliers to evoke the surprise and festivity feeling of the town festivals in south of Italy. It was a challenge since “yellow” traditionally fights with the “idea” of wine. We thus decided to keep this suggestion as a pretext to introduce and play with some opposite elements: warm and natural versus young and pop, traditional bricks versus polished resin.
