This house located on a large terrace on the south side of a hill in La Garriga, Barcelona; with views over the village, it is distinguished by its two porches:

– The porch to south, allows a solar control, protecting the large windows of the room, and offering an extension area of the living room in transition to the garden.

– The porch to north, is used to park vehicles comfortably outside.

The house has a clear zoning, establishing a dichotomy between public and private, on both sides of the entrance and around a central courtyard.

The rooms are situated to the east, next to the playground and around the yard, adapting the shape of the windows to enhance views.

In the living room, the house takes on a double height on which is set a study-library and  a terrace that serves as viewpoint from which to enjoy landscape from a different perspective.

The library is the body that shades south porch.

The project seeks to solve the program so that, despite the functional simplicity, spatial relationships add: the double circulations, the spaces (where the inhabitants themselves invent new uses ), a courtyard becomes intimate outer space, study-porch turning on the dual space of the room, the view over the landscape …

Ceramics (vulcano exact model of the Italgres black house) and concrete are the two materials that construct and characterize the alternation between the intimate and the public.
