Article source: Shaun Lockyer Architects The Barton Street project involved the conversion of a turn-of-the-century character home in Bardon into a twenty-first century contemporary family home. The design of the house focused on maximising the sense of volume, space and connection to the environment in a functional but also poetic way. A rich palette of stone, timber and concrete offers a modern counterpoint to the historic fabric that drew the clients to the house originally.
