Sumit Singhal
Sumit Singhal loves modern architecture. He comes from a family of builders who have built more than 20 projects in the last ten years near Delhi in India. He has recently started writing about the architectural projects that catch his imagination. Article source: [A+M]2 Architects The former Pellizzari’s pumps factory was still as it was during the production, before it was left abandoned. The site – the [B] zone – showed the ravages of time and the sequence of layers that have been added time after time. The project, then, comes from the industrial nature and the peculiar materials of the site – concrete and steel – and aims to preserve all the distinctive features of the building.  Image Courtesy © Davide Pretto On the inside, an open and neutral space is divided through the archetypical steel frames of the greenhouses that host the ‘production’ and the new ‘product’. Each area is then personalized with the selected and designed furniture. The objects and the materials create an intriguing contrast between the classy atmosphere and the rough industrial case (the existing building). The project dialogues with the natural light through a completely custom made approach. Their work provides unique emotions and adequate spaces for people, both in the public and private sphere. They are very much used to work with a variety of programs, scales and places but they will always favor custom made product, from small details to global designs. Every new project is an opportunity to emphasize structure and construction as being the essence of architecture. Each work, of course, starts as a challenge and becomes an achievement. For [A+M]2 Architects it is both a personal story as well as an architecture manifest.
