Article source: Díaz y Díaz Arquitectos This semi-basement and ground floor house is located in the town of Oleiros. It is implanted on the site considering the previous situation of the plot of land, and solving the different orientations of the volumes. The landscape and siting of the different volumes with the slopes of the plot of land, becomes a key factor in this project. According to this, several masonry stone platforms arise. Over them, the volumes sit with a zinc coating.
building is planned with a wheeled and pedestrian access from the street parallel to the volumes. The project design looks for the privacy, generating privacy from the street, and opening to the backyard, which organizes the house, looking for the sights and the sun path on the plot of land. The ground floor consists of two volumes, differentiating day zone and night area. The building arises with two volumes in “L” layout around the backyard. The house consists on a semi-basement, for the garage and storage space. The volume dedicated to the day zone includes the living room, the dining room and the kitchen. And also a pantry, a cleaning room and a toilet. The other volume is destined to the different bedrooms, with their own bathrooms, and a studio area. Next to it, are located the stairs to the semi basement. The building sits around a backyard, limited by the bedroom core volume, the living room and kitchen area, and a zone of exterior terraces and swimming pool, located on the Southwest border of the plot of land. The access from the street is performed through the link between the bedroom volume and the day zone volume, leading to a hall distributor. Around it, the living room – kitchen space arises on the West side, and a bathroom, office, garage, installation and storage space appear on the East side. The house closes itself to the Southeast views, gaining privacy, and it is opened to the Northeast to enjoy the seaside sights. In the Southwest zone, an outside terrace and swimming pool is sit, benefiting from maximum light and warm. Contact Díaz y Díaz Arquitectos
