Article source: Idoia Otegui _arquitectura Behind the new facade of crude steel of an old bank branch is a Club: CLUB XII, a new space that you can remember its facade to a gastronomic club, inside a social club, for its lighting to a club music, for their materials to a cultural club, or his furniture to a business club, but it is actually all that plus a personal training club.
A space to relax and forget about everyday life, a microworld where we feel handsome, strong and energetic, a club to make friends, business and exercise a little house for coffee listening to good music, a beach to do 15 pushups while leagues askance, a lounge where stretch muscles talking about frivolities, a path which run 10 kilometers while you check your facebook or shade of a tree where release tension by eating a green apple… And for all that you have to create a scenery, an environment, an atmosphere, through a comprehensive, transparent, high space, screened by a large compartmentalized window with a faint, warm and indirect light, with dark and golden colors, with woods and reflections of beautiful bodies, with few machines and lots of personal space, with changing rooms where you feel at home, another world, another mind, another body…. Idoia Otegui is an architect by the ETSAM since 1996. She establishes i!_arquitectura in 2014 to begin a new labor stage, this time alone, after being for 15 years co directing PO2 architects. She is an associate professor of architectural projects in the Architecture School of Alcalá de Henares since 2008 and her creations from PO2 architects have been exposed and published both in the national and international arena, underlining two participations in the “Bienal” of Architecture of Venice (2002 and 2006), the “Camuñas” price to young architects in 2006, the participation in the international exposition “JAE” and the publication of the monographic of her creation “monoespacios 4” by the “Fundación COAM”.
