 Image Courtesy © Nicolás Morales First Stage The family demanded a place to live while the work was being carried out, the first stage is the block behind the mango tree that contains the low level: the service area with room and bathroom plus a barbecue with a grill and a place to cook which was temporarily closed, that would serve as living room. The second stage will be in a top floor: 2 rooms for children and 1 shared bathroom were projected.  Image Courtesy © Nicolás Morales  Image Courtesy © Nicolás Morales Second Stage In the second stage, the shell of the old house is reused with its walls of 30cmts, leaving only the bathroom sector, which articulates the kitchen dining room with the dining room, virtually all integrated. A mixed structure of pillars and beams of reinforced concrete and a lightened slab are used to accelerate the execution of work, in the upper floor the exposed brick is painted to protect it against the assailing humidity of our subtropical climate, that at the same time it differs from the existing walls of the ground floor revoked. Image Courtesy © Nicolás Morales  Image Courtesy © Nicolás Morales Resulting from these 2 blocks there is a intermediate patio generated with brick rubble floor of the demolition, since the large mango tree generates an impenetrable shadow that does not allow to grow grass or any other species, in this patio is projected a small pool of 2×3 meters, ideal for those days of 40º in Paraguay.  Image Courtesy © Nicolás Morales  Image Courtesy © Nicolás Morales The front is designed reusing the openings of the original house on the ground floor, topped with a brick filter in “convocó” (hollowed concrete blocks) which in addition to providing shade and privacy, serves as support for the climbing plants of the garden terrace.
