The apartment, previously denominated as “the building’s caretaker apartment”, sits on top of six storey residential building, with two separate entrances.
Connected to the building’s two separate stair core, the apartment has two diametrically opposed entrances, joined by a long corridor and presents a highly comparted and disconnected spatial distribution.
Excesses are demolished and the long circulations eliminated. The kitchen pivots between the social and the private. Motion is set to conquer informality. The chosen stone brings light to the interior and serves as a reflector plane on the outside. The apartment’s relation with the existing balcony is endowed.
Interior and exterior come together profiting from the magnificent view towards Monsanto Natural Park.
Although it was not our clients initial intentions, the old was transformed and new it became.
