ArchShowcase Sumit Singhal
Sumit Singhal loves modern architecture. He comes from a family of builders who have built more than 20 projects in the last ten years near Delhi in India. He has recently started writing about the architectural projects that catch his imagination. SKI home in Madesimo, Italy by ES arch enricoscaramelliniarchitettoMay 6th, 2018 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: ES arch enricoscaramelliniarchitetto The development of the architectural project has determined the construction of a building that combines a unitary image with an articulated arrangement, determined by external factors (distances, constraints). The trend of the perimeter walls adapts to external constraints, the smallness of the land does not allow to define geometrically determined trends. Starting from the given perimeter, through a series of minor corrections, orientation corrections and consolidation of rotations, a plant has been determined that is repeated on the first floor, except for small differences. The articulated plant does not have the possibility to determine the course of the ridge on geometric bases. It is in terms of volume that there have been various trends in the ridge and the pitches, in order to create an elegantly articulated volume, without poignant elements.
One of the main considerations during the design phase concerned the possibility of articulating the trend of the roofing. The proximity of the ski slope, placed at a considerably higher level, has led to a reasoning concerning the coverage and its value as a “fifth” table. The roof is entirely visible from above; for this reason, it was decided to configure the course of the ridge in an articulated way. This “broken” trend defines an “artificial” level curve; as a consequence, of the set of different roofing planes, the eaves moves on different heights characterizing the elevations. The two project volumes are arranged on different levels: the first volume, at a lower level, is divided according to a prevalent north-south direction; the second, at a higher level, is configured as a monolithic element. The combination of the two elements determines an articulated and extremely coherent combination. the entire structure is in XLAM-type wood panels. Categories: House, Residential |
